Education Concerns and Solutions as viewed by Students, Parents and Teachers and Administrators
Current Student Concerns When middle school age students were asked about the major concerns affecting their education at home, in the community and at the school, they responded the following: At home, competition for TV time; in the community, alcoholism; and, at the school. racism. Current Parent Concerns When parents of middle school age students were asked about the major concerns affecting the education of their children at home, in the community, an at the school they responded the following: At home, lack of communication; in the community, racism; and, at the school, gangs. Current Teacher and Administrators (n/a) Current Student, Parents and Teachers and Administrators Solutions When addressing solutions to the above issues all the age groups focused on improving their communication and spending more quality time with each other. They spoke of the importance of creating new friendships with people they perceive as different, helping each other, and in particular, improving the communication and relations between parents, teachers and students.
